Industrial 57C404C Network Communications Module

The 57C404C Network Communications Module from Reliance Electric is a high-speed interface for AutoMax and DCS 5000 distributed control networks, designed to coordinate data exchange between multiple controllers across a rack-based network and to simplify diagnostics during field servicing. Key physical and diagnostic features include RS-232 serial compatibility, 4K of memory in a dual-port arrangement, two ejector tabs, and a 7-segment fault-code LED, all in revision C, enabling quick identification of faults and straightforward cartridge replacement. On the network side, it delivers 845K baud communications over links up to 3,000 feet, supports monitor-capable operation, and requires 5V logic power at 2.5A for reliable operation in AutoMax/DCS 5000 installations. Designed as a dedicated network node, the 57C404C can form either master or slave drops and, in an optimally configured network, supports up to 51 physical drops, making it suitable for medium-to-large distributed control systems requiring synchronized controller data.
