Bulk Pro Systems SS-3 Safety Pull Switch

The Bulk Pro Systems SS-3 Safety Pull Switch is a rugged pull‑cord interlock that interlocks with conveyor shut‑down systems to halt belt movement during maintenance or emergencies. When the cable is pulled on either side, the actuator arm rotates to the alarm position, engaging two SPDT micro switches and a manual lockout mechanism. The switch can be reset by actuating the reset lever after the danger has passed. Typically mounted on the walkway side of a conveyor or in locations accessible from the ground, the SS‑3 is available in standard and CSA‑approved versions, with the SS‑3X model carrying CSA approvals for Class II, Div. 1 & 2, Groups E, F & G hazardous locations. The unit uses a rugged die‑cast aluminum enclosure with a yellow epoxy powder‑coat finish and a red actuator arm. It provides two SPDT outputs and features a 20° actuation angle from normal, two conduit openings of 3/4" NPT, and a temperature range from -40°F to 176°F (-40°C to 80°C). It is designed for either single‑end or double‑end operation, and wiring is accessible via a dedicated cover. Electrical ratings for the micro switches include 15 A at 115–230 VAC and 30 VDC non‑inductive, with CSA 10 A at 115–250 VAC, making it suitable for typical belt‑conveyor control circuits. Optional accessories include safety cable, cable clamps, conveyor stand‑off eyes, cable break option, flags, and lights.
