Blum IF59-A2 Infrared Interface Module

The Blum IF59-A2 Infrared Interface Module is the standard data transfer interface that links Blum measuring devices with infrared or radio transmission to the NC/CNC controller. Mounted on a DIN rail (DIN EN 50022-35), it serves as the data bridge between the Blum receiver system and machine control, and provides an RS232 data path for serial communication. The IF59 itself requires 15–30 V DC at up to 100 mA; the connected receivers (IC56/IC57) are powered from 12 V DC at 100 mA via the IF59 interface. The module includes 4 inputs (4 × 10 mA), 4 outputs (4 × 50 mA, push-pull), and 1 Solid State Relay output of up to 50 mA, enabling measurement data and control signals to be conveyed to the NC control, with the device protected to IP50. The IF59 is described as the standard interface for all Blum receiver systems (except IC55) and is used to transfer data between infrared receivers and machine controls, including configurations used on 5-axis machines where mounting in the spindle head is common. The IF59-A2 variant specifically enables integration with Blum infrared measurement components within PLC/NC environments, supporting reliable wireless data transmission within Blum’s measurement ecosystem.
