Beckhoff EP5101-0002 EtherCAT Terminal Module
Beckhoff EP5101-0002 EtherCAT Terminal Module
Description:
Beckhoff EP5101-0002 EtherCAT Box Module is a 1-channel incremental encoder interface that directly connects an incremental encoder with differential RS422 or TTL outputs to an EtherCAT network, using 5 V signaling on the encoder side. It supports 16- or 32-bit counters and a high-throughput path with a cut-off frequency of up to 4 million increments/s when fourfold evaluation is enabled, with a basic encoder clock up to 1 MHz. The compact enclosure measures 30 mm wide x 126 mm high x 26.5 mm deep (without connectors), weighs about 165 g, and is made from PA6; it carries IP65, IP66, IP67 protection per EN 60529 and operates from -25 to +60 C. Powered from 24 V DC with a maximum summed current of 0.5 A for the module, the EP5101-0002 uses an M12 encoder input connector and is part of Beckhoff’s EtherCAT Box family designed for angle and position measurement applications.
