Beckhoff EL1104 4-Channel Digital Input Terminal

Beckhoff EL1104 is an EtherCAT terminal that provides four 24 V DC digital input channels for fast, reliable detection of field signals in industrial automation. Each channel accepts standard 24 V inputs and includes a 3 ms input filter to suppress bounce while preserving responsiveness; the module supports both 2-wire and 3-wire sensor configurations and includes an internal sensor supply (+24 V) with a return path for field devices, simplifying wiring. As part of Beckhoff’s EL10xx digital input family, EL1104 transmits each channel’s state to the EtherCAT master in an electrically isolated form, protecting the controller from field-side transients. The unit is designed for DIN-rail mounting on 35 mm profiles (EN 60715) and carries an IP20 protection rating for typical factory environments. It is certified for multiple regions, including CE, UKCA, EAC and CCC, with additional approvals such as cULus, ATEX, and IECEx where applicable. Ideal for reading signals from sensors, limit switches, and other digital devices within compact automation architectures, the EL1104 integrates with TwinCAT software and Beckhoff Bus Terminal topology to support scalable, plug-and-play I/O expansion in EtherCAT systems.
