Beckhoff EL1004 4 Channel Digital Input Terminal

The Beckhoff EL1004 is a four-channel digital input terminal for EtherCAT networks that accepts 24 V DC signals from field devices such as switches and sensors and presents them as binary inputs to the controller. Each of the four inputs is individually scanned with a 3 ms input filter to improve noise immunity in industrial environments. The module provides galvanic isolation between the field side and the EtherCAT bus, with the EL1004-0020 variant specified for 2,500 V functional isolation, helping protect the controller from surges and ground loops. Status indicators (LEDs) on the terminal give immediate channel-by-channel feedback of input state. As part of Beckhoff's EL10xx family, the EL1004 is commonly used to monitor digital signals such as pushbuttons, limit switches, and 24 V DC sensors in automation tasks, and it wires into a Beckhoff EtherCAT I/O system for use with TwinCAT software.
