Banner Engineering SM312LVAG Photoelectric Sensor

The SM312LVAG Mini-Beam Photoelectric Sensor from Banner Engineering is a polarized retroreflective, self-contained detector designed to sense shiny or reflective targets at short to mid-range distances in tight spaces. It operates on 10–30 V DC and provides a bipolar output configuration (1 NPN and 1 PNP), enabling direct connection to PLC inputs; the sensing range runs from 50 mm to 2 m, and the polarized retro mode reduces background interference when used with Banner's BRT-3 reflector. This sensor is specifically tuned for detecting reflective surfaces in industrial environments, delivering reliable detection even on objects with challenging finishes. The standard cabling for the 2 m version is 2 meters (6.5 ft) long, with longer lengths available via the W/30 suffix to provide a 9 m (30 ft) cable as needed. As part of Banner's MINI-BEAM family, the SM312LVAG combines a compact footprint with rugged performance, making it suitable for precise position sensing and presence checks on reflective parts in automation lines.
