Banner Engineering ES-UA-5A Safety Relay Module

ES-UA-5A is Banner Engineering’s safety relay module for E-stop, rope-pull, and interlock monitoring, designed to be used in emergency-stop and guard-monitoring circuits. It accepts AC/DC universal power (115 V ac or 11–27.6 V dc) and provides one safety input that can be configured as either a single dual-channel or one-channel input, plus a reset input. The module supplies four normally open safety outputs (4 NO, 6 A each) and an auxiliary output quartet consisting of one normally closed contact (1 NC, 5 A) and two solid-state outputs (0.1 A each). A removable terminal block and a compact 84 × 45 × 118 mm footprint (width 45 mm) fit standard control panels, and the unit carries an IP20 rating with operation up to 50 °C. Self-checking circuitry supports auto or manual reset, with a recovery time of about 350 ms and a typical response time of 25 ms. Electrical life is rated at 1,000,000 VA cycles, and the device exhibits a safety-conscious profile with SIL 3 and PL e ratings, making it suitable for ensuring redundant safety logic in automated machinery. Key input characteristics include 20–50 mA at 12–30 V dc for safety and reset inputs, and an operating range that supports simultaneous or concurrent input operation. This module is purpose-built for E-stop integration and guard monitoring within Banner’s ES/GM safety-relay family, delivering reliable, independently controlled safe outputs (4 NO) alongside non-safe outputs (1 NC and 2 PNP) to support comprehensive machine-safety circuits.
