Banner Engineering SMI9 12FPQD Module

Banner Engineering SMI9 12FPQD Module is a VALU-BEAM glass-fiber–optic sensor in the SMI912 family, built around a mini-style integral quick-disconnect (QD) connection for compact, field-ready deployment. It uses a glass fiber optic sensing path, with the sensing range depending on the chosen fiber and configuration, and it operates on 10–30 V DC supply while delivering a discrete NPN I.S. interface output. The modular design lets you place the sensing element remotely from the control electronics, connecting to Banner amplifiers or compatible control gear through the integral QD. This model is designed for remote sensing tasks where fiber-optic links are advantageous, such as detecting part presence or position along conveyors or in tight or dirty environments, while the electronics remain protected away from the sensing site. The SMI912 family is compatible with Banner’s accessory ecosystem, including cordsets and compatible amplifiers, enabling straightforward integration into existing Banner sensor networks.
