Banner Engineering MGCA-4A Machine-Guard Control Box

MGCA-4A is a 115 VAC machine-guard control box that coordinates Banner Engineering's MACHINE-GUARD light curtain system, interfacing with the MGE616A emitter and the MGR616A receiver to safeguard point-of-operation machinery. Inside, it houses two replaceable relay modules (FSD and SSD) with forced-guided contacts to improve reliability, supports diverse redundancy, and offers two blanking modes—floating and exact—to accommodate stationary objects in the guarded zone. The light curtain system provides a synchronized infrared beam curtain from 6 inches to 6 feet high with a maximum sensing range of up to 45 feet, and is typically used with hydraulic and pneumatic power presses, molding presses, and automated production equipment. Dimensions are 9.0 in by 9.5 in by 5.0 in and the unit weighs about 9 lb; interconnection cabling is available in 25, 50, 100, and 150 ft lengths, with two cables per system and a total length not to exceed 175 ft, while the MGCA-4A variant is designed for 115 VAC (the related MGCB-4A is the 230 VAC version).
