Balluff BES02NJ Inductive Proximity Sensor

The BALLUFF BES02NJ inductive proximity sensor detects metallic objects without physical contact using an electromagnetic field. It features an M18 x 65 mm stainless steel housing, a 7.2 mm sensing distance (flush mount), and a PNP, normally open output powered from 10–30 V DC with a switching frequency up to 350 Hz. The device is designed for industrial automation and is IP67 protected, with an M12 4-pin connection and an operating temperature range of -25°C to +70°C. In practice, it serves position sensing, part presence detection, and machine control across OEM machinery, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, CNC equipment, robotics, and broader factory automation environments, including end-of-travel detection, part verification, and machine interlocking functions in continuous-duty lines. Common replacements include Pepperl+Fuchs NJ series inductive proximity sensors (M18 equivalent), IFM IG series inductive proximity sensors (M18 flush-mount type), and Turck BI series inductive proximity switches (M18 cylindrical type).
