Balluff BES M18ME1-PSC20F-S04G Inductive Sensor

Balluff BES M18ME1-PSC20F-S04G is a cylindrical unshielded inductive proximity sensor in an M18 housing for non-flush mounting on metal surfaces in automation. The 18x63.5 mm sensor offers Sn of 20 mm and Sa 0...16.2 mm with 5% repeatability. It provides a PNP normally-open output and operates on 10–30 V DC, delivering up to 200 mA; no-load supply current is around 10 mA and the output voltage drops about 2 V under load. The sensor's CuZn chrome-plated housing and PBT sensing face ensure ruggedness, and the device comes with an M12 4-pin connector (S4). It is rated IP54 and has polarity reversal protection and short-circuit protection. The unit withstands mechanical shock (half-sinus, 30 g, 11 ms) and vibration (55 Hz, 1 mm amplitude, 3 × 30 min) and operates in a temperature range of −25 to +70 °C. With a maximum switching frequency of 200 Hz, this Balluff sensor is well suited for metal-detection tasks on conveyors, machine tooling, and packaging lines where compact, non-contact sensing is required.
