Automation Direct D4-DCM Communications Module

Automation Direct D4-DCM Data Communications Module provides a dedicated RS-232/RS-422 port for all DL405 PLCs to connect with DirectNET networks or Modbus RTU devices. This single-port module can be configured as a DirectNET master or slave, as a DirectNET peer, or as a Modbus RTU slave, enabling flexible integration within DL405 systems. It installs into the DL405 base and uses rotary and DIP switches to set network addressing and communication parameters, with installation guidance and cabling considerations documented in the DCM manuals. Diagnostic status indicator lights offer quick feedback to troubleshoot network communications. Typical applications include linking a DL405 PLC to HMIs, PCs, or other networked controllers over DirectNET or Modbus RTU without requiring changes to the PLC program.
