Description:

A/FLS-06-A Freeze Stat from Automation Components, Inc. is a 6-foot capillary, automatic-reset low-temperature cutout designed to protect HVAC coils from freezing. This self-contained, electromechanical thermostat uses a vapor-pressure sensing element and a 6 ft capillary (1/8 in. O.D. tubing) to sense air temperature along the sensing line, and is meant to be mounted between the heating and cooling coils on the supply side of the fan unit. It provides four conductors across two isolated circuits (two simultaneous SPDT contacts) for switching or signaling in a building automation system. The adjustable trip-point range is 15°F to 55°F (-9°C to 13°C), factory-set with a stop at 35°F (1.7°C), with reset options that can be manual or automatic depending on the exact model. The unit is housed in a NEMA 1 rated metal enclosure with a 1/2 in conduit knockout to accommodate line-voltage connections. Electrical ratings vary by line voltage; a typical pilot-duty specification is 125 VA at 120–600 VAC (and 57.5 VA at 120–300 VDC), suitable for controlling HVAC components and signaling devices. The A/FLS-06-A is part of the Freeze Stat family designed for low-temperature protection and to address temperature-stratification concerns in equipment.
