Description:

AMK AZ-IG2 is an input module option card for the AMKASYN AZ servo system that provides four differential square‑wave pulse inputs (RS‑422) for encoder or high‑speed pulse signals. It plugs into one of the AZ module slots (1–4) and is secured in the front panel by a captive screw; the card code is 01 and must be entered into the slot assignment (ID 32882) for the selected slot. The four inputs are differential RS‑422 and require differential output sources, with an input impedance up to 180 Ω and a maximum input current of 20 mA; open inputs are shown by LED indicators (channels 1–4) and generate an error message that can be cleared with an Error Reset. Connectivity is via two 25‑pin D‑SUB female connectors (X78/X79), with the mating shells interlocked by UNC 4‑40 screws and shielded cables required; the shield must be grounded on one side at the AZ module through the metallized D‑SUB shell. Shield connection is specified as unilateral at the AZ(D‑SUB) interface, per system configuration settings (ID 32883–32886, slot 1–4). The maximum input frequency is listed as 1 MHz in newer documentation, with Rev. 1.05 noting 500 kHz, and encoder signals are processed fourfold within the AMKASYN framework, enabling precise motion control from four independent pulse inputs.
