Allen-Bradley 1771-ASB Remote IO Adapter Module

The Allen-Bradley 1771-ASB Remote I/O Adapter Module is a PLC-5-era remote I/O interface that acts as a slave on a PLC-5 Remote I/O network, enabling distant I/O to be scanned by the PLC-5 controller. It is designed to reside in a Universal I/O chassis and functions as the remote I/O adapter within the AB PLC-5 system, coordinating data exchange between the central processor and remote I/O modules. The ASB family can mix with 1771-ASB/B and 1771-AS in the same remote system, with a baud rate limit of 115.2 kbaud or less to maintain compatibility across AB networks. As part of the PLC-5 Remote I/O architecture, the 1771-ASB Series E adapter expands the controller's reach by linking remote I/O racks through the RIO protocol.
