Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 RTD Resistance Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 RTD Resistance Input Module
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 is a six-channel RTD/resistance input module for Compact I/O, enabling direct measurement of RTD sensors in CompactLogix systems and expanding the 1769 I/O backplane with dedicated analog inputs. It supports six independently configurable RTD inputs, including Pt385 and Pt3916 platinum RTDs (100/200/500/1000 Ω variants) as well as nickel RTDs in 672/618 configurations and nickel-iron 518 sensors, with input ranges of 0–150 Ω, 0–500 Ω, 0–1000 Ω, and 0–3000 Ω depending on the sensor type. The module uses a Sigma-Delta converter and provides a common-mode voltage range up to ±10 V with high common-mode rejection, designed for industrial environments and noisy signal conditions. Power consumption is specified as about 100 mA at 5.1 V or roughly 35 mA at 24 V, with a maximum heat dissipation around 1.5 W. Accuracy specifications vary by sensor type and temperature, including Pt385 ≈ ±0.5 °C and Pt3916 ≈ ±0.4 °C at 25 °C (with 50/60 Hz filtering), Ni ≈ ±0.3 °C, and NiFe ≈ ±0.3 °C, reflecting performance across the supported RTD families. Filtering options let you select 10 Hz, 50 Hz, or 60 Hz to tailor bandwidth and noise rejection for your application. As a standard member of the Allen-Bradley Compact I/O family, the 1769-IR6 mounts on the 1769 backplane and integrates with the broader 1769 CompactLogix I/O ecosystem for scalable, modular control.
