Allen-Bradley 1771-IFE Analog Input Module

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IFE Analog Input Module is a 12-bit, 16-channel analog input card for 1771 I/O chassis that can read up to 16 single-ended inputs or eight differential inputs and convert them to a binary value the PLC can use. Each channel is configurable via jumpers to select between single-ended or differential input and between voltage and current signal types. Per-channel range options include three voltage ranges and one current range: 0 to 5 V DC (differential), -10 to 10 V DC (single-ended), -10 to 10 V DC (differential), and 4 to 20 mA (differential). The module communicates with PLC-5 controllers through the 1771 I/O bus, supporting standard data transfers of input words to the processor. It is compatible with 1771 I/O chassis such as 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, and 1771-A4B, making it suitable for a broad range of AB PLC configurations. Typical applications include process monitoring, sensor interfacing, and 4–20 mA loop measurement where a compact, fixed-architecture analog input solution is needed for industrial environments.
