Allen-Bradley 872C-N8NP12-D4 Inductive Proximity Switch Sensor

The Allen-Bradley 872C-N8NP12-D4 is a 12 mm nickel-plated brass, 3-wire DC extended-range inductive proximity sensor from Rockwell Automation’s WorldProx Bulletin 872C line, delivering reliable non-contact detection of metallic objects with an 8 mm unshielded sensing distance. Commonly installed in conveyor systems, packaging machinery, robotic work cells, material handling equipment, assembly lines, and metalworking machines, this sensor provides high-speed switching for automation and retrofits. It features a normally open (N.O.) PNP (source) output and operates from 10–30 VDC, with 4-pin M12 DC Micro Quick-Disconnect connectivity for easy panel or arm mounting. The 12 mm cylindrical barrel is made of nickel-plated brass, and the device is rated IP67, able to withstand harsh industrial environments from −25 °C to +70 °C. With a switching frequency up to 1300 Hz and sensing ferrous and non-ferrous metals, it is certified for CE, UL, cUL, KC, CCC, and RCM to support global installations.
