Allen-Bradley 56RF-IN-IPD22 RFID Dual Port E-Net Interface Block
Allen-Bradley 56RF-IN-IPD22 RFID Dual Port E-Net Interface Block
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 56RF-IN-IPD22 RFID Dual Port EtherNet/IP Interface Block is a high‑frequency RFID interface designed to integrate HF RFID tag data into a Rockwell Automation network. It provides two RFID transceiver ports plus one input and one output, enabling simultaneous tag communication and straightforward I/O integration over EtherNet/IP. The module operates on a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet link with full- or half‑duplex capability and supports up to 100 meters per network segment. It is powered by a 24V DC auxiliary supply (tolerances: -20% to +10%), with a maximum auxiliary current of 4 A, while each RFID transceiver port can source up to 100 mA at 24V DC and each input port draws up to 5 mA at 30V. Physical dimensions are 179 × 37 × 43.25 mm, and its status indicators include Module Status (red/green), Network Status (red/green), Link Status (green/yellow), Auxiliary Power (green), and I/O Status (yellow). In operation, the RFID interface block can drive user outputs via explicit messages when there is no I/O connection, or when an I/O connection is idle, enabling responsive tagging workflows. Ideal applications include HF RFID tag reading/writing in automated lines, asset tracking, and gating or triggering PLC logic based on RFID events, all within a single EtherNet/IP block that couples RFID capability with standard industrial networking.
