Allen-Bradley 42EF-P2MNB-F4 Retroreflective Sensor

Allen-Bradley 42EF-P2MNB-F4 RightSight polarized retroreflective photoelectric sensor combines emitter and receiver in a compact 27 mm-wide housing (34.5 mm long, 46.7 mm high) for reliable object detection on conveyors and packaging lines. It operates from 10.8 to 30 V DC and provides two complementary LO/DO outputs in a sinking (NPN) configuration via a 4‑pin Micro QD connector on a 152 mm (6 in) pigtail. In polarized retroreflective mode it uses a visible red LED and detects targets up to 3 m with a spot size of 83.8 mm at 3 m. The sensor carries IP67 and NEMA 4X, 6P protection and has a fixed, non‑adjustable sensitivity with a 1 ms response time; protection circuits guard against short circuit, reverse polarity, false pulses, and overload. Ambient light tolerance reaches up to 5000 lux incandescent, enabling stable operation in bright factory environments. The housing is Mindel with a Udel cover, reflecting rugged construction suitable for washdown zones. Applications include part presence and position sensing on production lines and packaging equipment, where polarization and retroreflective sensing help minimize misreads when reflective surfaces are used as targets.
