Description:

The Allen-Bradley 1794-AENTR Flex I/O Dual-Port EtherNet/IP Adapter is a FLEX I/O Ethernet/IP adapter that provides two RJ-45 Ethernet ports to connect FLEX I/O modules in a dedicated Ethernet/IP network. It is designed for DIN rail mounting on standard top-hat rails and draws power from a 19.2–31.2 V DC supply, typically around 500 mA and up to 550 mA maximum, with a maximum power dissipation of about 7.1 W. The dual ports (Port 1 and Port 2) are built on Category 5 Ethernet cabling and are intended for network connection and daisy-chaining to other devices in the Ethernet/IP topology. Electrical isolation between the FlexBus (I/O) and Ethernet networks is specified as 50 V continuous, with basic insulation certified up to 1000 V AC for 60 seconds; the unit uses 0.33–3.31 mm² (22–12 AWG) stranded copper power conductors and a terminal torque of 0.8 Nm. This adapter supports FLEX I/O communication by linking a FLEX I/O rack to an Ethernet/IP network, making it suitable for distributed I/O in ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or similar PLC systems that require reliable remote I/O via EtherNet/IP.
