Allen-Bradley 1794-AENT FlexLogix Ethernet Interface Module

The Allen-Bradley 1794-AENT is a FLEX I/O EtherNet/IP Adapter Module that connects a FLEX I/O base to an Ethernet/IP network, enabling field-level I/O on Rockwell Automation systems. Mounted on the FLEX I/O chassis, it provides a dedicated Ethernet interface for communicating with a ControlLogix or CompactLogix processor and the plant network. As part of the 1794 FLEX I/O family, the AENT handles the Ethernet/IP communications protocol to map input and output data between the PLC and FLEX I/O modules in the rack, configuring I/O modules under Rockwell’s Studio 5000 or equivalent software. For setups requiring additional network paths, Rockwell’s dual-port variant 1794-AENTR offers two Ethernet ports to daisy-chain devices in a network topology, while the single-port 1794-AENT focuses on a single Ethernet connection. This module is commonly deployed to industrial machines for scalable, distributed I/O with standard Ethernet infrastructure, enabling straightforward integration of FLEX I/O with enterprise networks and control systems.
