Allen-Bradley 1784-KTX SLC 500 Communications Module

The Allen-Bradley 1784-KTX SLC 500 Communications Module is a three-channel Data Highway Plus (DH+) interface card that lets a host computer or operator workstation communicate with DH+ networks used by legacy Allen-Bradley PLCs. It provides three DH+ channels (Channel A, Channel B, Channel C) accessible via front-panel blue terminal connectors, enabling simultaneous connections to multiple DH+ segments or to DH+ remote I/O networks. The card supports DH+ communication at speeds up to 57.6 kbps and is documented for use with SLC 500 processors as well as PLC-5 and older PLC nodes on DH+ networks; in some configurations, the SLC 5/01–5/03 family can require adapters such as the 1784KA5 for full compatibility. Typical applications include linking a Windows-based host to DH+ networks for programming, monitoring, and data exchange with SLC 500 processors, as well as acting as a remote I/O scanner on DH+ networks to collect or distribute I/O data across multiple PLCs.
