Allen-Bradley 1783-RMS10T Managed Ethernet Switch
Allen-Bradley 1783-RMS10T Managed Ethernet Switch
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1783-RMS10T Stratix 8300 Managed Ethernet Switch is a ten-port Layer 3 modular switch in Rockwell Automation’s Stratix 8300 line, designed for industrial networks that require routing, VLANs, and managed Ethernet connectivity. It uses a base modular platform with eight fixed copper Ethernet ports and two flexible ports that can accept either copper or SFP modules, delivering scalable uplink options and enabling mixed copper/fiber topologies in harsh plant environments. This switch provides Layer 3 features such as routing and advanced traffic management, and it supports IPv6 multicast as part of the Stratix 8000/8300 family capabilities. Power for the RMS10T is provided through the Stratix 8300 backplane/system configuration (no separate standalone DC input on the RMS10T). As part of the Stratix 8300 family, the RMS10T is a discontinued model; Rockwell Automation flags Stratix 8300 switches as legacy with migration guidance toward newer Stratix 5700 or 5400 series for new designs. In practice, it integrates with Rockwell hardware and software ecosystems, offering centralized management, VLAN support, QoS, and robust reliability suitable for demanding industrial automation networks.
