Allen-Bradley 1783-MX08F Stratix 8000/8300 Fiber Expansion Module is an eight-port fiber expansion module that attaches to a Stratix 8000 or 8300 Ethernet switch to extend your fiber network with eight 100BASE‑FX ports using LC duplex connectors. The module is designed to be mounted in the right‑most expansion slot and, per the base unit installation guidelines, can be paired with up to two expansion modules per base unit. It draws power from the backplane, with a backplane supply rated at 3.3 V DC and up to 3.6 A, and a maximum module power consumption around 10.1 W. The eight fiber ports deliver 100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity for Stratix 8000/8300 deployments, with LC connectors suitable for multimode fiber runs. This expansion is compatible specifically with Allen‑Bradley Stratix 8000 and Stratix 8300 switches, enabling scalable fiber topology in industrial networks. For distance performance, 100BASE‑FX supports fiber distances that vary by fiber type: up to about 2 km on 62.5/125 μm multimode fiber and up to about 4 km on 50/125 μm multimode fiber, depending on your link budget and transceiver characteristics.
