Allen-Bradley 1771-OYL is an eight-point digital dry-reed relay output module for PLC‑5 I/O backplanes, delivering four Form A (normally open) and four Form B (normally closed) outputs. The eight outputs are organized as four two‑point groups with individual common terminals, and each output is electrically isolated from the module’s logic so all channels can switch independently to separate loads. Each output can conduct up to 100 mA continuously across a 0–24 V load, with AC loads needing a power factor of 1.0, while energizing a relay coil draws 37 mA from the backplane and the total coil current can reach up to 420 mA when all coils are energized. The module supports up to 1,000 ft (304.8 m) of interconnect wiring. It is designed for resistive loads and does not include surge‑limit circuitry, so inductive or capacitive loads are not recommended.
