Allen-Bradley 1771-IXC Thermocouple Input Module

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IXC Thermocouple Input Module is an eight-channel, isolated analog input card for PLC-5 I/O chassis that converts thermocouple or millivolt signals into 2’s complement digital data read by the PLC. It supports multiple thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, R, S, T) and millivolt inputs, with IPTS-68 thermocouple linearization, 0 to 60°C cold-junction compensation (±0.5°C), temperature scale selectable in °C or °F, and an input resolution of 3.2328 µV. The module provides robust isolation per UL 508/CSA C22.2, 120 dB common-mode rejection at 60 Hz (up to 1000 V peak), open-input detection that yields an overrange in under 10 seconds, and supports auto or manual calibration, with data formatted in 2’s complement binary. Inputs can be configured as all of the same type or split as 4 of two different types, and the IXC is compatible with PLC-3 or PLC-5 via the 1771 I/O structure and block transfer.
