Allen-Bradley 1771-IFE SLC 500 Digital Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1771-IFE SLC 500 Digital Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IFE Analog Input Module is an eight-channel, 12-bit analog input card designed for SLC 500 and PLC-5 family controllers, delivering digitized process signals to the CPU with reliable conversion across common industrial sensors used in manufacturing environments. It draws power from the 1771 I/O backplane and typically requires about 500 mA from the I/O power supply, with the backplane providing the bus timing and data alignment necessary for synchronized sampling of all eight channels. The module supports block transfer (BTW/BTR) data exchanges for efficient reads and writes to the PLC and can be deployed in standard I/O chassis or configured for remote I/O setups, following the 1771 I/O system architecture. Applications include monitoring analog process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow, using standard sensors whose signals are digitized by the 1771-IFE for control decisions, data logging, and alarming within industrial automation systems.
