Allen-Bradley 1771-0FE2B Analog Output Module

The Allen-Bradley 1771-0FE2B Analog Output Module is a four-channel current-output analog I/O module for the PLC-5 1771 I/O platform. As the Series B current-output option, it provides four 4–20 mA outputs that drive actuators and field devices through the Remote I/O backplane, enabling precise analog control over longer cable runs in automation installations. Each channel is driven by a 12-bit DAC, delivering 4096 distinct digital-to-analog steps to the current loop, with power drawn from the 1771 I/O backplane in compatible Universal I/O chassis such as 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, or 1771-A4B, and it communicates with the PLC-5 controller via Remote I/O messaging. The 1771-OFE family shares a common form factor, so the voltage-output variant 1771-OFE1 occupies the same slot while offering selectable voltage ranges per channel, whereas the 1771-0FE2B remains the current-output option for typical process control loops. In practical use, this module is suited for controlling valves, actuators, or other field devices in legacy PLC-5 systems that rely on analog signaling over a 4–20 mA current loop.
