Allen-Bradley 1769-OF8C Compact IO Analog Output Module

The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF8C is an eight-channel analog current-output module for the 1769 Compact I/O backplane used with CompactLogix controllers. Each of its eight outputs sources a current signal in the 0–20 mA range (with 4–20 mA loops commonly used in process control), enabling direct control of actuators, valve positioners, and other field devices via standard 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA wiring. The module delivers 16-bit resolution in the 0–20 mA range (approximately 15.91 bits, about 0.323 µA per LSB) and similarly fine resolution for the 4–20 mA segment, with a maximum per-channel conversion rate of 5 ms and a sub-63% response time under 2.9 ms. Backplane current draw is 145 mA at 5 V or 185 mA at 24 V, and each channel supports a resistive load from 0 to 500 Ω (inductive loading up to 0.1 mH). Field calibration is not required. By expanding the Compact I/O family with eight current outputs, the OF8C provides scalable analog output for precise process control and automation tasks in a CompactLogix system.
