Allen-Bradley 1769-OF8C 8-Point Current Module
Allen-Bradley 1769-OF8C 8-Point Current Module
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1769-OF8C is an eight-channel current output module for the CompactLogix 1769 I/O family. Each of its eight channels delivers a controlled current in the 0–20 mA range (4–20 mA capability commonly used in industrial control), with 16‑bit resolution per channel for precise scaling. The module draws 145 mA on the bus at 5 VDC or 185 mA at 24 VDC. It offers a 5 ms conversion rate and a 63% step response under 2.9 ms, making it suitable for medium-speed analog control tasks. Output impedance exceeds 1 MΩ, and recommended resistive loads range from 0 to 500 Ω; inductive loads up to 0.1 mH are supported. Accuracy is specified as ±0.35% full-scale at 25 °C, with temperature drift of ±0.0058% per °C, ripple of ±0.05% (0–50 kHz), nonlinearity of ±0.05%, and repeatability of ±0.05%; module error is ±0.55% and offset error ±0.05%. Field calibration is not required. Maximum heat dissipation is 2.69 W. This module enables eight current-controlled outputs from a single CompactLogix rack to drive analog actuators, valves, or feedback devices, aligning with standard 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA control schemes in industrial automation.
