Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 RTD Resistance Input Module

Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 CompactLogix 6-channel RTD/resistance input module expands the analog input capabilities of a CompactLogix system by adding six independently configurable inputs that accept RTD sensors or direct resistance signals. Each channel can be set up for specific RTD types such as Pt 385, Pt 3916, or 1200 Ω nickel variants (including Ni672, Ni618 and Ni604), as well as direct resistance inputs, enabling a single module to support diverse sensor types across a project. The IR6 provides per-channel diagnostics with open-circuit and short-circuit detection and status indications for over-range or under-range conditions, helping to identify sensor or wiring faults quickly without needing external test equipment. Integrated into the 1769 Compact I/O family and designed for use with CompactLogix controllers, this module supports standard backplane communication and comes in a compact form factor suitable for rack-based automation layouts. Typical applications include process-temperature monitoring, HVAC and industrial automation where accurate RTD or resistance measurements are required, such as climate control, plastic extrusion, or food-and-beverage processing lines.
