Allen-Bradley 1769-IQ16 16-Point DC Input Module

Allen-Bradley 1769-IQ16 is a 16-point 24 VDC digital input module for CompactLogix controllers that supports either sinking or sourcing wiring; it accepts 10–30 VDC on its inputs at 30 °C (10–26.4 VDC at 60 °C) and mounts on the Compact I/O bus to add 16 discrete inputs to a CompactLogix or MicroLogix 1500 system. Each input presents a nominal 3 kΩ impedance with defined electrical thresholds: off-state ≤5 V and ≤1.5 mA, on-state ≥10 V and ≥2 mA, with an inrush current up to 250 mA. The module features an approximate 8 ms response for both on and off transitions. For isolation, input point to bus and group to group withstand 1200 VAC for 1 s or 1697 VDC for 1 s, with a 75 V DC working voltage rating. The unit weighs about 270 g and measures roughly 118 × 35 × 87 mm. Typical applications include expanding a plant’s 24 VDC digital input footprint in automation projects where CompactLogix or MicroLogix controllers read 16 independent digital signals from a single module, enabling flexible wiring in both sink and source configurations.
