Allen-Bradley 1769-IM12 Compact IO Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1769-IM12 Compact IO Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1769-IM12 Compact I/O input module provides 12 isolated 240 V AC digital input points for CompactLogix systems, enabling direct sensing of line-level signals from industrial equipment on the CompactLogix backplane. It operates from 159 to 265 V AC (47–63 Hz), with 200/240 V AC nominal inputs, and features a 20 ms input delay for both on and off transitions. Each of the 12 inputs shares internally connected commons and presents a maximum on-state current of 12 mA (minimum 5 mA) at voltages up to 120 V AC, with an off-state current of up to 2.5 mA and an off-state voltage rating of about 40 V AC. Input impedance is about 27 kΩ at 50 Hz and 23 kΩ at 60 Hz. For safety and isolation, the module provides input-to-bus isolation of 1836 V AC for 1 s or 2596 V DC for 1 s, with a rated working voltage of 132 V AC and reinforced IEC Class II insulation. The unit weighs roughly 300 g (0.61 lb) and measures about 118 × 35 × 87 mm (4.65 × 1.38 × 3.43 in). Power consumption is around 3.65 W, and the device draws about 100 mA from the 5.1 V logic rail. Commonly used to monitor 240 V AC sensors, relays, and other high-voltage inputs in a CompactLogix installation, the 1769-IM12 plugs into a Compact I/O backplane and communicates with a controller over the 1769 bus for fast, deterministic discrete input handling.
