Allen-Bradley 1769-IF8 Analog Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1769-IF8 Analog Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF8 is an 8-channel analog input module for CompactLogix that accepts either eight differential or eight single-ended signals, enabling flexible sensing of voltage or current sources in a Compact I/O rack. It supports voltage ranges of ±10 V, 0–10 V, 0–5 V, and 1–5 V, and current ranges of 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA, with full-scale ranges of ±10.5 V, 0–10.5 V, 0–5.25 V, 0.5–5.25 V, 0–21 mA, and 3.2–21 mA. The ADC is delta-sigma with 16-bit resolution for unipolar inputs and 15-bit resolution plus sign for bipolar inputs. Input impedance is 220 kΩ for voltage inputs and 250 Ω for current inputs, and the module provides robust isolation (500 V AC or 710 V DC for 1 minute) with IEC Class II reinforced insulation between group and bus (30 V AC/DC working voltage). Common-mode and normal-mode rejection are strong, >60 dB at 50/60 Hz with a 10 Hz filter, and about -50 dB under the same conditions when the filter is engaged. Each channel is rated for accuracy of roughly ±0.2% full-scale for voltage and ±0.35% full-scale for current at 25 °C, with temperature drift specified for both. Power draw is approximately 120 mA at 5.1 V or 70 mA at 24 V, and the unit weighs about 450 g with dimensions around 118 x 52.5 x 87 mm. This module is designed for use in Allen-Bradley CompactLogix systems, pairing the 1769-IF8 with compatible 1769 I/O chassis to digitize external analog signals for PLC processing and control. Applications include data acquisition from sensor networks, process monitoring, and analog signal conditioning in manufacturing environments.
