Allen-Bradley 1768-ENBT Ethernet/IP Communication Module

The Allen-Bradley 1768-ENBT CompactLogix EtherNet/IP Communication Module adds a dedicated Ethernet/IP interface to 1768-L4x CompactLogix controllers, enabling EtherNet/IP data exchange on a standard Ethernet network at 10/100 Mbps. It mounts on a DIN rail or panel and provides a single RJ45 Ethernet port (Category 5e minimum) for EtherNet/IP traffic, with the RJ45 connector meeting IEC 60603-7 standards. Electrical characteristics include continuous isolation between Ethernet and the controller of 30 V, and typical power consumption around 4.34 W. The module supports up to 128 Logix communication connections and up to 64 TCP/IP connections, enabling multiple devices on the network to communicate concurrently. For installation, use M4 or #8 mounting screws with a torque of about 1.16 N·m (10 in-lb). Common applications include linking CompactLogix 1768 systems to PLCs, HMIs, and other EtherNet/IP devices for data exchange, status monitoring, and control signaling.
