Allen-Bradley 1768-CNB CompactLogix ControlNet Module

Allen-Bradley 1768-CNB CompactLogix L4X ControlNet Module is a ControlNet interface bridge that connects a ControlNet network to a CompactLogix controller in the L4X family. It provides one ControlNet BNC connector and one ControlNet RJ45 jack for the physical network, supports up to 48 Logix communication connections, and operates at a 5 Mbps data rate to transfer I/O and data between the ControlNet field devices and the CompactLogix backplane. The module is powered from the backplane, drawing about 1 A at 5.2 V with a measured power dissipation of 5.14 W, and offers a continuous isolation of 30 V between the ControlNet network and the backplane; it is designed for DIN rail or panel mounting, with a mounting torque of 1.16 N·m (10 lb·in) and an open-style enclosure, specified for North American temperature code T4A. Note that the 1768-CNB was discontinued as of January 31, 2020, and is no longer available new from Rockwell Automation, though used units may still circulate in the market. This module enables CompactLogix controllers to interface with a ControlNet network, bridging ControlNet devices and I/O to the L4X controller while remaining within the established 1768 module ecosystem.
