Allen-Bradley 1764-LSP Serial Port Interface Module

The Allen-Bradley 1764-LSP MicroLogix 1500 Serial Port Interface Module adds a single RS-232-C serial port to a MicroLogix 1500 base unit, enabling DF1 communications with HMI panels, SCADA systems, RTUs, and programming workstations. The port is non-isolated and supports DF1 full duplex and half duplex, as well as ASCII, Modbus, and DH-485 protocols, making it suitable for legacy device integration without a gateway. It is designed to work with compatible memory modules (1764-MM1, 1764-MM2, 1764-MM3) and can be used alongside the RSLogix 500 programming environment. The module draws about 300 mA from a 5 V DC supply and provides approximately 7.65K words of user memory for program and data storage, supporting moderate-complexity control tasks. By leveraging the built-in RS-232 port, the 1764-LSP facilitates direct serial connections to terminal servers, HMI devices, and RTU equipment, preserving the modularity of the MicroLogix 1500 family while extending its serial communications footprint without introducing additional gateway hardware.
