Description:

Allen‑Bradley 1762-IT4 is a four-channel MicroLogix expansion input module that accepts thermocouple and millivolt signals for temperature and small-signal measurements in MicroLogix 1200 systems. It supports thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, and C, with millivolt inputs in ±50 mV and ±100 mV ranges, and it includes a cold-junction compensation (CJC) sensor to improve accuracy. Each channel can be configured to report data in Engineering Units, Engineering Units x10, Scaled-for-PID, or Percent Range, providing flexible interpretation of sensor signals for various control schemes. The module updates readings with a typical per-channel rate of 7–303 ms (plus the CJC update time) depending on the selected filter, enabling timely temperature monitoring without overwhelming the PLC. Autocalibration occurs on channel enable and on configuration changes between channels, helping maintain measurement accuracy over time. Designed as an expansion I/O option for MicroLogix 1200 controllers, the 1762-IT4 operates from a 5 V or 24 V DC backplane and has a documented bus current draw of about 40 mA at 5 V DC or 50 mA at 24 V DC. Operating in typical industrial environments, its four input channels support accurate temperature readings and small-signal voltage measurements, making it suitable for process temperature control, furnace or kiln monitoring, HVAC system sensing, and other applications requiring multiple thermocouple or millivolt inputs in a compact module.
