Allen-Bradley 1756-DNB DeviceNet Communication Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-DNB DeviceNet Communication Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-DNB DeviceNet Communication Module is a ControlLogix bridge that sits in a 1756 chassis to connect a ControllerLogix processor to a DeviceNet network, enabling the PLC to communicate with DeviceNet devices on the fieldbus. It supports DeviceNet network speeds of 125 Kbps, 250 Kbps, and 500 Kbps, with practical reach up to 500 m at 125 Kbps, 250 m at 250 Kbps, and 100 m at 500 Kbps, and it handles up to 64 DeviceNet nodes on the network. The module uses a standard 5-pin inline DeviceNet connector and requires the DeviceNet trunk to be powered from a SELV/PELV-compliant source, with termination resistors at trunk ends (120 Ω, 1%). Configuration is performed via RSNetWorx for DeviceNet software, and the 1756-DNB serves as the primary communication bridge between the ControlLogix system and the DeviceNet network, enabling reliable read/write access to DeviceNet devices and their I/O data. Designed for Rockwell Automation’s ControlLogix ecosystem, the 1756-DNB is specifically labeled as a DeviceNet communications module for ControlLogix systems.
