Designed for use with SLC 500 fixed or modular controllers, the 1747-DCM connects expansion chassis or distributed I/O to a supervisory Allen-Bradley controller via the RIO Link, enabling distributed processing and streamlined data sharing across the network. In typical configurations, the module resides in a 1747 I/O rack and interfaces with the SLC 500 backplane; Rockwell offered a conformally coated variant, the 1747-DCM-CC, which has been discontinued, so verify compatibility when selecting a replacement.
