Allen-Bradley 1771-IXHR High-Resolution Thermocouple/Millivolt Input Module for PLC-5 provides eight floating differential inputs designed for precise thermocouple and millivolt sensing in industrial control systems. Each channel accepts standard thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, R, S, T) as well as millivolt signals, with a ±99.99 mV input range for the millivolt paths, enabling flexible signal capture from a variety of sensors. The module reports data with 15 bits plus a sign and supports natural binary or BCD data formats, delivering temperature readings at a resolution of 0.1°C (or 0.1°F) per bit and an overall channel update rate around 25 ms for eight channels. As part of the PLC-5 I/O family, the IXHR plugs into the backplane and draws power from the system without requiring an external supply, making it a drop-in option for upgrading thermocouple accuracy in existing installations.
