Allen-Bradley 1769-SDN DeviceNet Interface Module

The Allen-Bradley 1769-SDN DeviceNet Scanner Module is a single-slot DeviceNet interface that drops into a 1769 Compact I/O rack to act as the DeviceNet master on the network, bridging DeviceNet devices with a controller such as MicroLogix 1500 or CompactLogix. It provides one DeviceNet port with an open-style 5-pin linear plug for connecting DeviceNet devices, and it can be mounted on either a DIN rail or a panel to suit cabinet layouts. As a DeviceNet scanner, the 1769-SDN serves as the network interface between the controller and DeviceNet slaves, coordinating data exchange across the DeviceNet backbone. The module’s input image is configurable up to 246 words, enabling substantial data transfer from connected slaves to the controller, while remaining flexible for various I/O configurations. Its compact, single-slot form factor simplifies retrofits and space-constrained installations in factory automation environments.
