Spirax Sarco 54530C Thermodynamic Steam Trap TD52

Spirax-Sarco 54530C TD52 Thermodynamic Steam Trap is a compact, inline 1/2-inch NPT trap designed to discharge condensate very close to steam temperature, maintaining steam quality and remaining unaffected by water hammer or superheated steam. Built in stainless steel with a Cool Blue finish and an integral insulated cap, it is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 600 psi g (41–42 bar g) and a maximum temperature of 800 °F (427 °C) at all operating pressures. To operate reliably, it requires a minimum inlet pressure of 3.5 psi g (0.24 bar g), and back pressure must not exceed 80% of the inlet pressure under any condition to ensure proper shut-off. The TD52 family is available with several connection sizes, including 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", and 1" NPT, with the 54530C variant corresponding to the 1/2" NPT configuration. Typical applications include steam main drainage and tracer lines, process equipment, laundry and kitchen equipment, superheated steam lines, and outdoor installations where freezing may occur. When in operation, condensate is discharged rapidly as the trap cycles, helping prevent condensate buildup while tolerating variations in steam loads and maintaining system efficiency.
